Ms. Murray's Classes
Hello Families! Announcements:
I apologize for the late post, I have been out of commission due to my ankle but getting better. Although I was out for a lot of this week, I know the kids enjoyed their week! The older students enjoyed going to Ms. Caitlin's class this week to learn more about Kindergarten. There was also Kindergarten Information Night last Thursday. If you were unable to attend that night, I will send home a packet with your child with the information that Matt and Caitlin handed out. Enjoy tomorrow with your children! Ms. Murray

Hello Pre-K Families, Important Dates:
Reminders:
Another jam packed week of fun! The older pre-k kiddos joined Matt & Ms. Caitlin this week in Matt's classroom to learn more about Kindergarten and to spend time with the two teachers. Next week, on Tuesday & Wednesday, the students will move up again to see Ms. Caitlin's room. The second slideshow at the bottom of this posts contains photos from the move up days. We enjoyed playing outside this week in all different areas! They had fun at the water garden and practiced jumping from rock to rock. We also have been using the sand box on the pre-k side with different tools and trucks. On Thursday, we opened up a flower shop in our dramatic play to round out the year. On Monday, the MW class will be introduced to it as well. They enjoyed purchasing flowers, wrapping them in tissue paper, and writing cards if those flowers were a gift! They used their sorting skills to sort all of the flowers back to the right colored buckets after they were done playing. As the workers, they tended to the plants, advised shoppers on what seeds to buy, and rung up customers, what fun! Enjoy the sunshine today, Ms. Murray Photos from Kindergarten are below: Hello Families! Announcements:
We finished up our Animal Hospital unit this week. Next week we will be starting to learn about flowers and plants and opening our flower shop in the dramatic play. On Monday and Tuesday, we enjoyed a nice long recess time out at the water garden. So much exploring happened! For an art project this week, everyone got a piece of model magic white clay, beads, and gems. Everyone created whatever they wanted and they are currently displayed in our classroom. Be sure to check your child's sculpture out at pick up or drop off. On Wednesday and Thursday, we practiced our gross motor skills by throwing bean bags outside during center time. I watched them throw overhand and underhand, sometimes with their eyes closed. They had to try to get the bean bag into the hoops on the ground. This helps improve their hand-eye coordination. Enjoy the sunshine! Ms. Murray Happy Star Wars Day! **IMPORTANT FOR PRE-K NEXT YEAR** There is a new bus transportation procedure for Pre-K students starting next school year: "Pre-K students may ride the school bus. Pre-K students riding the bus must be comfortable getting on and off the bus themselves and buckling their own seatbelt. Pre-K families are responsible for providing transportation both ways if students are not able to ride the bus independently." Can you believe the school year is already starting to wind down? The warm weather this week had made all the kids very excited to not have to wear their snow pants :) We enjoyed reading a story called Bridget's Beret, and Ms. Joanne let us borrow all of her berets so we could immerse ourselves in our painting. Ask Your Child: Did you make a painting with the your special letter? Was there tape on your painting? Have a lovely weekend! Ms. Murray |
