Rumney Preschool
Ms. Murray's Classes
Hi Pre-K Families! Announcements:
Whew, what a fun and jam-packed week! As we get closer to our winter vacation, children tend to have a lot more energy so we have been very active. On Monday, we cut paper snowflakes and decorated the classroom windows. They enjoyed seeing each other's snowflakes and complimenting one another. There was some interest in hat making, so many of them picked their colors and we made construction paper hats. On Tuesday, the kids noticed the water at the rock garden had frozen. They found large rocks and threw them at the ice to break it. It was great to see them come up with different ways on how to break the ice. On Tuesday & Wednesday, we made latkes! We read the book Lots of Latkes by Sandy Lanton. Cooking together was so much fun. They all took turns flipping the latkes and we enjoyed them during our snack time on Tuesday and lunch time on Wednesday, pairing them with sour cream and apple sauce. On Thursday, they had a great time burying each other (and me!) in the snow. They also enjoyed rolling and sliding down the hill. We read The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats and made our own Peter snowsuit pictures. We will make these on Monday with the MW class. Have a great weekend with your kids, Deanna
