Rumney Preschool
Ms. Murray's Classes
Hi Pre-K Families, Announcements:
We had a great snowy week in preschool. We spent quite a bit of time outside, finding some large snow mounds to play on. On Monday morning and Thursday morning, both classes had with some fun Valentine’s Day-esque activites. One activity was matching letter beads into heart shaped boxes. In each box, little stickers with letters were in each spot. The other activity was using pinchers and clothespins to pick up pom poms to put them in little heart shaped containers. You could definitely make a version of the heart shaped box letter activity at home, it was a fun! I got the heart shaped candy boxes at Dollar Tree. On Wednesday, we took a grand adventure to the gazebo all the way across the soccer fields. They were quite tired after, but couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had! On Monday and Thursday, we re-read Sneezy the Snowman and made our very own melted snowmen! We mixed glue and shaving cream to create puffy paint. Each one of them chose why their snowman melted. Some said that he went into a hot tub, or drank hot cocoa. On Wednesday afternoon, I had the pleasure of stopping into Kindergarten to read a very, VERY silly book. I read the book to the TTh class on Thursday. The book is called Butts are Everywhere by Jonathon Stutzman. I'm sure they will be giggling about it for a few days :) On Wednesday and Thursday mornings, we spent some time using scissors. There were big pieces of paper taped to the table, and they had to use scissors to cut the lines drawn. Some lines were straight and some were zig zag. Both classes enjoyed the "challenge" of the zig zag lines. Have a great weekend, Deanna
