Rumney Preschool
Ms. Murray's Classes
Hi Preschool Families! Announcements:
Another week in the books. Can you believe we are nearing the end? They have grown so much over the school year, it’s wonderful to see. As the year is starting winding down, I am going to start sending home all your children’s belongings (extra clothes, etc). We are also going to start working on our end of the year memory books. Both classes enjoyed drumming with Steve Ferraris, our Artist in Residency. It was so fun to watch them. They were amazed at how big the drums were and really loved drumming to a story about animals in Africa. Both classes will go again next week. There is a concert next Thursday, and while preschool is not participating, you are more than welcome to go and watch. This week, we did a big lesson on quilts and friendship. We read the book called The All Together Quilt by Lizzy Rockwell. In the story, kids and adults work together at a community center to create a quilt. Later on in the day, we all decorated our own construction paper quilt pieces. They worked hard to make each quilt pieces different and unique. We then worked together to put the quilt pieces together and arrange them in the way they wanted it to look. Both classes quilts came out beautifully! The Mon/Tues quilt is in the classroom and the Wed/Thurs one is on the bulletin board in the hallway. Please check them out next time you are in! Ask Your Child: Did you make a quilt this week? How did you make it? Where did you hang it? Have a good weekend, Deanna
