Ms. Murray's Classes
Hello Families! Announcements:
Can you believe it's already the end of March? This school year is flying by! We had a jam-packed week of fun activities including a visitor from the Kellogg-Hubbard Library on Wednesday and Thursday. Each child got to pick out a book to keep. We are still enjoying our animal/animal hospital unit. We read a story this week called Doctor Nice. It was about a young doctor who treated animals with various injuries. The twist at the end was that the animals were his stuffed toys the whole time! Ask Your Child: Did someone from the library come to visit the classroom this week? What did you do with them? We are still looking for one more white button down shirt to add to our dramatic play. If you have an old one, we would love to take it off your hands. Have a great weekend! Ms. Murray

Hello Families, Announcements:
What a week we had! We opened up our animal hospital this week and the kids had a great time taking turns being either the veterinarian, the receptionist, or the pet owners. They took care of sick animals by giving them bandages, shots, and taking their temperature. On Tuesday, Alison Cornwall came to visit the classroom to show us her veterinary truck that she travels in to take care of big animals. We learned so much! We are still seeking old white button down shirts to wear as lab coats. We would appreciate it! Next week, KHL will join us in our classroom for a story, craft, and a free book! They will be joining us on Wednesday, 3/28, and Thursday, 3/29. Ask Your Child: You opened the Animal Hospital this week. What did you do there? Enjoy your weekend, Ms. Murray Hello Families, *Important Announcement*
I was not here to enjoy most of the week with your children, but they sure had a great week! We worked hard on our animal homes and talked more about opening our animal hospital in our dramatic play. We read stories about animals who were sick or hurt and needed to go to an animal hospital which led to discussions about what vets need in their office to help the animals. On Thursday, we flexed our math skills and played a roll and build game. They rolled a dice, figured out what number it was, and then stacked that many cubes. Enjoy your snowy weekend! Ms. Murray Hello Pre-K Families, Welcome back! I hope you had a lovely school vacation with your children. This week was a short week, but a fun one! We started brain storming on how we can turn our dramatic play into an animal hospital. We started our animal unit by "building pet homes" in the block area during centers. Their creativity was amazing! They made cat perches, bird cages, aquariums, tanks for lizards, and more! We read the story Sally Goes to the Vet by Stephen Huneck. This book was very informative and taught the children what exactly happens at a vet office and why an animal might go there. After rest time, we practiced writing animal words with the help of a chart. This was a great activity for them to give meaning to their writing! Ask Your Child: Did you listen to a story about a dog named Sally? Did she get hurt? Where did she go to get help? I will be away at a conference on Monday and Tuesday, so I will see you all again on Wednesday and Thursday. Enjoy your weekend, Ms. Murray |
