Ms. Murray's Classes
Hi Families! Sorry for the delayed post. Important Dates:
We had a jam packed week! On Monday and Tuesday, we worked on some math by matching dominos to their correct numbers. This is a fun and easy project to do at home! I wrote the numbers with their corresponding dots on index cards. Each child picked up one domino at a time, counted all the numbers, and then matched them to the correct card. We have enjoyed extended outdoor time this week because of the beautiful weather. The kiddos climbed rocks and carried around large sticks! They have been helpful friends by pushing each other on the swings. Ask Your Child: Did you count numbers this week with dominos? Did you match them to the numbers? Please get your field trip permission slips back asap! Thank you! I hope you've enjoyed this extended weekend with your family, Ms. Murray

Hi Families! This will be a short blog post, mostly pictures. Important Dates:
Another great week of playing outside while loving the rain worms. The MW crew who will be attending Kindergarten next year went over to Matt's room to meet and play with Matt and Caitlin on Wednesday. Ask your child about that! The TTh upcoming Kindergarteners will be going next week. What fun!!! Please enjoy this weekend with your children, Ms. Murray Hi Pre-K Families! I have been out of town, so I apologize for the late blog post. Announcements:
We had a great week of fun in the (mostly) sun! A BIG thank you to the wonderful Jill Drury for being the PTO fairy god mother for providing our class with Melissa & Doug cardboard building blocks! On our morning table time this week, students explored play doh with different materials added to it, such as: buttons, beads, pipe cleaners, and pom poms. We also looked at sun patterns, where the students made patterns with the rays of the sun. We loved making our Mother's Day paintings this week -- Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! They appreciate and love you so much :) Our painting was a directed drawing. That is when I guide each child on how to draw an object so they can connect their drawings to something real (like a pot with flowers). We have enjoyed our time outside this week exploring different parts of Rumney outside. We played in the water garden and spent time jumping off big rocks. I hope you all have a great rest of your weekend with your children! Ms. Murray Hello Families! We had a great week together, playing outside and learning new things! Toward the end of May, I will take the upcoming Kindergarten students to visit Matt & Caitlin in their classes to learn more about going to Kindergarten next year! How exciting :) On Monday and Tuesday, we enjoyed playing with oobleck again. The kids enjoyed liked trying to keep it a liquid or a solid, while mixing it with watercolor paint. For our dinosaur unit, we made dinosaur pasta skeletons this week. We also looked at a large T-Rex footprint on the floor. We used our shoes to measure how many feet would fit inside a dinosaur footprint. Outside, we have enjoyed our wet playground, which has made it a new place to play! On Thursday, there were so many worms outside, and they loved playing with them! On Wednesday and Thursday, the kids told me about their homes, what they look like, and drew them. After that, they told me how to get to their house from Rumney. Check them out on our bulletin board in the hallway! Have a great weekend! Ms. Murray |
