Rumney Preschool
Ms. Murray's Classes
Hello Families, Announcements:
Wow, what a jam packed week of learning! We worked on our number recognition, flexed our dancing skills, and started a mini unit about the artist Jackson Pollock. On Wednesday and Thursday, I read the story Action Jackson by Jan Greenberg and Sandra Jordan. This gave the students some information about who Jackson Pollock was and what kind of art he created. We explored printed out pictures of some of his pieces, and photos of him painting. We decided to try it ourselves! With yarn and paint, we made some splatter paintings. Next week (if the weather is nice!), we will be going outside to create a larger scale, more "Pollock" style painting! Ms. Joanne enjoyed teaching a small lesson on balls and ramps using the blocks and some marbles. While exploring the woods this week on Wednesday, we found an EXTREMELY deep puddle! Boy, did we have fun with that. :-) On Thursday, we enjoyed an extra long time playing and dancing in the gym! Ask Your Child: I heard you learned about an artist named Jackson Pollock. Tell me about how he paints. We took TONS of pictures this week! Enjoy the slideshow. Enjoy your weekend! Ms. Murray
