Ms. Murray's Classes
Hi Folks, Announcements:
On Tuesday and Wednesday, we played a game that everyone really enjoyed! I taped pictures around the room of animals, items, etc. We talked about the letters B, F, L, and T and what sounds those letters make. Each child had a white board and marker. We walked around as a group and found the different pictures. Then, they told me what the picture was (for example: bicycle) and practice the beginning sound of that word (buh-buh-bicyle). After that, they wrote the letter on their white boards. It was a mix of a scavenger hunt to find the pictures, and letter and letter sound practice. This is a game you could play at home, too! On Wednesday, we played in our pretend kitchen quite a bit. Many kids spent some time using our pretend rotary phone to call their family members. It’s great to hear them say, “I love you, I’ll see you once school is done!” It was also quite snowy on our playground that day, and they all tested how fast the slides were. On Thursday, we cut paper snowflakes. It’s a intricate activity that helps strengthen their hands and scissor skills. We decorated the classroom with some of them. We will do this next week with the Monday/Wednesday class. Both classes enjoyed sliding down the sledding hill. There’s not quite enough snow on the hill for sleds, but they have been rolling and tumbling down it with their friends. Next week we will be learning about Hanukkah. We read the book “Lots of Latkes” and will read it again next week! Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate. Have a great weekend, Deanna
