Ms. Murray's Classes
Hello Families! Announcements:
We had another snowy and fun week in Pre-K. A main focus of this week was working on fine motor skills. On Monday and Tuesday, they worked on stringing beads onto pipe cleaners to make bracelets or snakes. Using their fingers and hands to do this activity straightens those muscles for other activities like writing, using scissors, buttoning/snapping, and so many others! They loved to find letter beads to either make their name or pick out letters that they know - such as D for dad. The dramatic play is back to normal -- kitchen, dress up clothes, doctor's kit, tools, and a few misc. items. The kids and I will discuss what it could be next over the next few weeks. After vacation, something new will be there! On Tuesday, the students went for a letter hunt all around the school! They carried clipboards with a "dot it" heart activity. Once they found a letter, they used a dot marker to cover up the letter. On Wednesday, we did a similar dot marker activity -- but with numbers. The students rolled dice and dotted whichever heart had the matching dots. Valentine's Day: We will celebrate Valentine's Day in class by celebrating the friendships we share and what friendship means. Over the last week or so, we have been reading books about friendship and talked about what it means to be a good friend. On Wednesday and Thursday of next week, your child can bring in valentines for the class. If you choose to send in valentines, please make sure there is one for each student. I will post class lists below. For 4 and 5 year old students, writing each of their friends name on valentines is a great activity! MW class: Cody, Nicky, Fergus, Jelena, Faith, Brycen, Elijah, Rocky, Emma, Ronnie, Conan, Mason. Total: 12 TTh class: Isabelle, Loren, Blakely, Tristan, Taylor, Elka, Evan, Evelyn, Sophia, Aiden, Seumas, Louisa, Djuna. Total: 13 Ask Your Child: What yoga poses did you do this week? (MW: Swan pose & Chair pose - TTh, Swan pose). Can you show me how you do it? Was it challenging? Have a very safe and snowy weekend, Ms. Murray
