Happy Pretend Spring! Announcements:
This week was full of indoor and outdoor adventure. We spent a ton of time outside in the puddles and climbing trees on Wednesday and Thursday. They took some great risks while climbing the trees! Last week, we read the story called In a Jar by Deborah Marcero and painted jars as an activity. It was a lovely story about two friends collecting memories in jars, even when one moved away. Your child brought home their memory jar this week. If there are any special events (birthdays, special days, etc), please encourage your child to bring their jar! They can "scoop" up the memory of their special day to always remember it. This week, both classes enjoyed the nursery rhyme Hey Diddle Diddle. They cut out pictures of the characters from the rhyme and glued them on in order of the story. We will be doing different nursery rhymes here and there over the next couple weeks and doing an activity to go with each. Both classes enjoyed the story Jabari Tries by Gaia Cornwall. It is the follow up book from Jabari Jumps. Both books are fantastic! In Jabari Tries, Jabari and his sister, Nika, are trying to make an airplane fly all the way across the yard. After finishing the book, we talked about things that are hard and remembered one of our says: We do hard things here. Have a great sunny afternoon with your awesome kids! Deanna
