Ms. Murray's Classes
Happy Friday Families, Announcements:
What a fun week we had! We built upon our friendships, enjoyed the beautiful weather, and did tons of dancing. This is the part of the year where we start to see friendships start to truly blossom. It is lovely to watch them dive deeper into their friendships and remember things that their friends do or do not like (example: "I am eating a cheese stick but I know that they don't like cheese sticks). They make strong connections every day. A great activity we did this week was stringing beads. While it seems like an easy task to do, the fine motor skills involved in stringing beads is quite challenging. They learned the words "cube" and "cylinder" while stringing the beads, and could pick them out such as: the purple cube or the green cylinder. After they completed stringing the beads, they counted them all using one-to-one correspondence. On Wednesday, we attended the tail end of the All School Meeting to dance to Zumba music to say a final farewell to Ms. Sheldon. We really enjoyed the warm weather this week. On Thursday, the snow was sticky and the weather was beautiful! The kids spent over an hour rolling snow balls bigger than them! Ask Your Child: Did Ms. Murray read a book about a red rock in the middle of the deep blue sea? What was on the rock? (The book has a green tree, a brown nut, a purple parrot, an orange butterfly, a black dot (on the orange butterfly), the yellow sun, a white cloud, a gray cloud, colorful fish, and a rainbow). After the pictures is a message from Ms. Honi about an event happening during Friday CC time. Have a great weekend with your kids! Ms. Murray We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for families with children 2-5 years old. Presented by Rachel O’Donald, “Dance to Learn” class will take place in the Rumney PreK on Fridays, March 22 and 29th from 9:45-10:30 with the PreK Community Connections students.
This class focuses on fun and appropriate movements for building your child's body and brain. Meaningful social/emotional connections are made as you and child move and improvise together and with others. Explore dance concepts using multi-sensory props and instruments as we sing nursery rhymes and move to a wide variety of music. Learn how to support and encourage your child's love of literature and movement, preparing them for preschool settings while moving through the early developmental patterns that wire the central nervous system and brain. This program is free and open to the public. Please be respectful by arriving on time so as not to disrupt the class. Please email Honi Bean Barrett at [email protected] to register.
