Ms. Murray's Classes
Hello Pre-K Families! Announcements:
It was a quick week, so this will be a quick update. We played outside and had a blast. The snow is melting, which is making us antsy for spring! Soon we will be spending our days in our muddy buddy suits instead of snow pants. On Wednesday and Thursday, both classes enjoyed the story Elmer by David McKee. The story is about a patchwork elephant that just wants to fit in. There were many predictions about what would happen next, and how Elmer would feel. Below is a picture of Elmer. We spent our days making colorful pattern pictures, where the kids picked a card and had to make a pattern to match. You can see those in the photos at the end of the blog. Over the next week or so, we will be doing more Elmer activities that relate to using different colors, and branch into learning about Henri Matisse. Each class also met Stu. Stu is a spray bottle that I put a sock over and added eyes and a mouth. His "nose" is the nozzle of the spray bottle. They met Stu, and learned that he has the flu and doesn't know what to do! Stu did not know how to cover his mouth, and he "sneezed" (with water) in their faces, and they thought it was very yucky. They taught Stu how to cover his mouth so he won't get others sick. It was great practice for them. Preschool Screening Day will be held on Wednesday, April 15th, all day long. There will be no Wednesday class on that day. If you know any children that will be 3 by September 1st, please let me know. If you have a child in your family that will be 3 by September 1st, please call Mary at the office to schedule your time for screening. Ask Your Child: How do you sneeze so it doesn't get on others? Can you show me? Thanks and have a great weekend! Ms. Murray
